HUG-A-BEARS & SMART BEARS
Hug-A-Bears were created by the
Pioneers in order to provide comfort to children in traumatic or unfamiliar
situations. The bears are made by Pioneers and donated to public safety,
fire, rescue and emergency medical personnel to be given to children. The
Smart Bear is the more education cousin of the Hug A Bear, they come with a
book for the children to read. Thousands of the comforting creatures
were sent to Operation Desert Storm troops and were donated to fire stations
around the country after the September 11, 2001 tragedies.
